Presentation: Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design
Monday, December 13, 2021 (11:00 AM - 12:30 PM)
(PST)
Description
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is a design method that incorporates the proper and effective use of the built environment to lead to a reduction in the fear and incidence of crime and improvement of the quality of life.
CPTED also can incorporate placemaking and positive activity to make a space less vulnerable to crime and unwanted activity.
City of Portland Community Safety Coordinators Jenni Pullen and Sarah Berkemeier will explore with you the safety concerns you have about your property, explain what CPTED-based improvements are and provide some ideas, based in CPTED methodology, to help lessen vulnerability and improve positive activity on your properties.
